Pratibimba’s coaching rests on a unique blend of
spiritual philosophy, practical application, and technical training
Spiritual Philosophy:
To see more clearly first requires belief that there is actually something deeper to be seen.
Sustaining this belief rests on reliable and observable evidence of the true self, the ego, and the difference between the two.
Sacred texts provide such evidence by offering perspective on existential questions such as: “Who am I”, “Why am I here”, and so on.
Pratibimba coaching leans into these existential questions, and when of service, uses the clues scriptures provide as a means of clarifying what is truly important to each individual.
Importantly, this is non-denominational — all scripture is sacred. Owing to limitations of time, the predominant objects of my own personal study are two volumes: the Bhagavad Gita and the Bhagavata Purana.
Further, this is not prescriptive— While such wisdom texts shape my understanding of the world as a coach — your own set of values, beliefs, and perspectives on these existential questions are unique to your personal journey — and my coaching is adaptable to lean as little (or as much!) into these questions as is of service to you.
Practical Application:
Just as action without an underlying philosophy is sentimental, philosophy without effort towards practical application is just idle speculation.
To that end, The most important thing I can do as a coach is to take my own self-work seriously and continue to grow personally. This takes two specific forms:
I am a recipient of regular coaching, to pinpoint my own ego and failings
I maintain a set of regular spiritual practices, to go closer to my own true self. These are of course personal in nature — but I am open to sharing them if and when they can be of service.
As my own coach has eloquently outlined to me, so I outline here for you:
“I don’t lead a perfect life, nor do I have all the answers for you to lead a perfect life. I don’t believe that anyone does and I wouldn’t easily trust if they said they did. I can’t solve your problems, as I can’t even solve so many of my own problems. But [through attentive listening and direct experience] I can help shed some light on what's going on inside you as well as in situations around you so that you can gain greater clarity, self-compassion, empathy for others, meaning, and the freedom to choose wiser actions.”
Technical Training & Coaching Experience:
Pratibimba owes its existence to and follows in the footsteps of Upbuild - An organization who’s vision is for a world without masks, where we all can be who we are rather than who we think we should be.
I am a graduate of the Upbuild Coaching Training program; a 60 hour program led by Mary Kuentz (CPCC, PCC) and Gina Kellogg (MCC, CPCC) which focuses on a range of coaching skills including (but not limited to) powerful questioning, moving towards action, channels of listening, and values based visioning.
Putting this training into practice, Pratibimba has now logged 100 hours of coaching with 20 pilot clients in order to develop these training concepts into a clear and unique coaching style. Clients to-date have a diverse range of backgrounds including entry-level MBB consultants, mid-level executives, and early to mid-stage CEOs.
